I had a bit of a scare last night when I bathed my 16 month old baby girl and found what I thought at first sight was a splinter or maybe a tiny thorn in the skin of her inside of elbow. When I looked closer and tried to wipe it away I thought it could be a tick. I had no idea ticks were this small! I lost it after removal so I couldn’t compare pics online. I feel a little better after reading your info on seed ticks. It had to be a seed tick. This thing was so so tiny and when I looked really close I could see it’s legs. Evelyn now has a red bump that looks like a pimple. It even looks like it has a small white head in the center of the little swollen red area. I just hope it isn’t a nymph and that the redness doesn’t spread. Anyway thank you for the information and perhaps you can she’d a little more light on my daughter’s bite.

That was the most hysterical description of one of the nastiest critters I’ve ever read! I just pulled a tick off of myself today and was talking to my father in law about it. He was telling me about seed ticks, which mine was not, and that led me to looking them up and finding your article. Thanks for the info and a good laugh! Your description was right on!
