luc’s flowers
I found these pics on the camera when cleaning out the memory card, some pretty shots that I totally did not recognize. The kids finally IDed them as the local Botanical Gardens some time this summer, and with that I remembered Luc carring around the camera, taking dozens of shots. Sometimes he takes forty blurry pictures of the cat and I have to spend fifteen minutes deleting them lest my overburdened hard-drive seize up and die. He gets the giggles and can’t stop shooting. But other times, he’s got such a good eye. I’ve written several posts over the years about his camera work, it will be interesting to see the progression as he grows up.
Anyway, there were some real lovelies in this group. Look and see….
And then there was this one he took of me. I rarely like pictures of myself, but this one is nice. I like the motion of the vines behind me.
I showed this post to him before it went live and he hugged me with his skinny little boy arms and said “you’re my flower, mommy.”
…
There’s something in my eye, okay?

"Dusi's Wings" April, 2003. . . .
"One thing fantasy can do for us is to give shape to the mysterious in the world; another is to make emotional yearning concrete. The early sections of "Dusi's Wings" do just that...there was a strong grasping towards the spiritual in fantasy here that was very promising, and I look forward to reading more by Lassiter." --review, Tangent Online.tags

Truly lovely pictures. Luc definitely has a good eye for framing. Thank you for sharing. This made my day.
