"Dusi's Wings" April, 2003. . . .
"One thing fantasy can do for us is to give shape to the mysterious in the world; another is to make emotional yearning concrete. The early sections of "Dusi's Wings" do just that...there was a strong grasping towards the spiritual in fantasy here that was very promising, and I look forward to reading more by Lassiter." --review, Tangent Online.twitterage

Maya, I love your prose poetry. It is so unexpectedly wonderful, sortof like how Joshua describes Raine. And your world is so completely imagined and rendered, but with just the right amount of detail; their love so nuanced. I like to hear you read these chapters twice sometimes cuz the pleasure of the telling is more than the story. Have you considered your voice as a talent to tell others’ stories?
If you are undecided about the ending I hope you consider that as an opening to make your world unbounded by this particular plot and leave it open to other tales. Often an author puts so much of herself into a creation that there are no good follow-ons, and that’s ok. But if you find more I hope you will find the time to bring it to us again/ some more..
thanks..
Wow, thanks so much, Leif!
And the ending is set. I finally nailed it down. I think.
