introducing mochi

[ 2 ] June 5, 2009 | maya

Sophie (5), acting as guest blogger today, says:

We found this kitty in the junk shed. She must have been with people when she was small. She’s a black kitty with an orange ear and big gray eyes. She’s growing very fast. When we found her, she was just the size of Paul’s hand. Now she is bigger. We named her Mochi.

[Here are some pictures Sophie took yesterday, three of about 200. Thank gawd for digital.]

Maya again:

Yes, Mochi has come a long way from the terrified, scrawny undersized rat-thing in our junk yard. Her favorite thing to do now is sneak attack our legs when we walk by. Second favorite thing, lounge in Sophie’s lap, purring. Like this:

I guess we all blossom with a bit of love.

I like how you got your kitten better than how I’ve got the newest kitten in our house.

Feral litter decided to hide (with momma’s blessings) between my radiator and my fan blade. When my son-in-law tried to crank the car… yeah. Instantly there was one surviving kitten.

He’s a lovely ginger who’s slowly getting over his concussion, scrapes, bruises and broken leg. And right now he’s moved off of my shoulder, where he was sitting and licking my neck, back down to my lap.

Oh My God! That’s horrible! Poor little babies! I had that happen, when I was a kid, with a nest of robins in the air conditioner. One survivor, who lived with me all summer. Her/His name was Jessie and s/he would sit on my finger. I’m glad you saved your ginger kitty…
