fall colors of a different kind
I did a big batch of clothes for the kids this past week-end. That is, I dyed a bunch of white things from dharmatrading because, as every mother knows, cold weather comes and you realize that nothing from last winter fits them anymore. I have posted before about my whole scrunch dye set up. Right now, the kids love the clothes–all soft and very comfortable, in bright colors. Sophie is my faithful assistant, with her own little safety gear and strong opinions about what color I should make this or that. “Mom, I think this dress should be a dark green.” To which I usually say, “Cool. I’ll get the dye.” I just have to make sure I stop doing it before it gets to that stage where “my mom used to dye all my clothes” becomes this tragic statement of the bizarre home life from which she barely escaped. So far, so good. This photo is looking whacked, though. Maybe I’ll try to get another….

"Dusi's Wings" April, 2003. . . .
"One thing fantasy can do for us is to give shape to the mysterious in the world; another is to make emotional yearning concrete. The early sections of "Dusi's Wings" do just that...there was a strong grasping towards the spiritual in fantasy here that was very promising, and I look forward to reading more by Lassiter." --review, Tangent Online.twitterage

I love these artciles. How many words can a wordsmith smith?
Hello January, nice to meet you! Apparently, words are a bottomless resource to a wordsmith, because I seem to have an inexhaustible supply.
