i am superwoman

Someone put cocaine in my cornflakes this morning. It’s not yet 10am but I’ve already made breakfast, milked goats, done a load of laundry, a load of dishes, cleaned up the yurt, made the beds, played trains with Luc, made a batch of chevre, ordered a new phone for my old dead one, and dyed a dress for Sophie (purple). Okay, I’m still wearing my pajamas, yes… But still, I’m on fire! I’ve been possessed by a domestic goddess! I’m going to go collapse now!

Seriously, these mornings are so rare. Usually I’m crawling out of bed like some lower-life form, trying to remember my own name. Speaking of remembering, I watched the latest Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles last night (you’re watching right? Because it is a really, really well written and acted show. In fact, it’s so blindingly good sometimes that I am SHOCKED it hasn’t been canceled yet) and in the end Sarah (another superwoman) says a line, “It’s what I do. It’s all I do.” I hear that line and up bubbles from my memory the echo of that same line from the original Terminator movie—Kyle saying about Arnold wanting to kill Sarah, “It’s what he does. It’s all he does.” And I thought, wow, how cool of the writers to echo that line from her past.

And then I thought: holy crap! I just remembered a line from a movie I haven’t seen in a decade! Probably more. I can’t remember what to buy at the grocery store, or where I put my glasses, or what we did yesterday, but I can remember Kyle’s line from ten years ago? That is so fucked up. What freakish superpower is this? And what good would it be, really, in the fight against evil?

Really going to go collapse now. And, hey, I’m already wearing my pajamas. What a time saver!
